My name is Giselle Nguyen and I’m a 21 year old lady-sort living in Sydney, Australia. I have been running this site since February 2009. Yes, I realise that Shakespear’s Sister is a band, but they don’t have an E, so SMD. Yes, I realise that it’s also the name of a feminist blog. No, I didn’t realise all these things when I named the blog. Yes, it’s named after the song by The Smiths.
I write this blog for fun to share my thoughts about music with the world. It is and will always be a one-person operation run entirely free of profit. I’m a regular contributor for Sydney’s street press magazine Drum Media and my work has also appeared in Rolling Stone Australia and a number of online outlets, such as The Daily Vault.
If you would like to get in contact, I would love to hear from you. Drop me a line on giselle.an.nguyen[at]gmail.com if you want me to have a listen to your band, are itching for an interview or want to tell me how shit I am. Really, I’d love to hear anything from all of you.
